Who is Sarah Bonnar?
I’ve spent more than fifty years exploring movement in many different forms, across four continents and through many stages of life. My background includes classical and contemporary dance, jazz and tango, as well as choreography, teaching, community development, and somatic movement practices.
Over time, all of these experiences have shaped the way I understand movement.
For me, movement is a way of connecting, healing, expressing ourselves, and remembering who we are. Dance Grammar has grown from that understanding: a place where technique and curiosity come together, and where learning to listen to the body matters just as much as learning steps.
Through my online course Dance Together, my gentle mobility program Stretching for the Inflexible, and the shared pleasure of the Afternoon Tea Dances, I hope to create spaces that feel welcoming, grounded, and deeply human. My work is always guided by a respect for real bodies and real lives, and by the belief that movement can help us meet ourselves with kindness, curiosity, and greater ease.
